Phones. Cars. Bikes. Purses. Electronics. Food. Items are stolen every day from homes, public areas and businesses. The average victim

of theft loses around $2881 in a single incident, yet there is something stolen every 13 seconds. Imagine the financial deficit those numbers indicate, and that is only what is reported.

What is stolen most often? Where is it stolen from? While answers are constantly changing, evolving and reforming, here are some statistics that shed a bit of light on which cities are victim to theft.

When it comes to automobiles, California takes the cake for the most populous places. Seven of the top 10 cities reside in the coastal state, ranging from top to bottom.

The city with the most reported cases of stolen cell phones is Miami, FL, followed closely by other main cities such as Los Angeles, New York City, Sacramento, Phoenix and Chicago.
